Can't install templates in joomla module

Ok so I have tried this a few times now....

I have installed the joomla1.7 module. It runs both front and backend but as soon as I try and install a template it pretty much ignores me. With j1.7 module it basically just refreshes the page and doesnt install the template and with J1.5 module it sends me back to the main control panel when i try and install the template.

Anybody have any ideas?
