Ok so I have tried this a few times now....

I have installed the joomla1.7 module. It runs both front and backend but as soon as I try and install a template it pretty much ignores me. With j1.7 module it basically just refreshes the page and doesnt install the template and with J1.5 module it sends me back to the main control panel when i try and install the template.

Anybody have any ideas?

Hi all and thank you very much so long for your advice.

I have also jumped into the Joomla! pool and looking forward very much to getting a hold onto this.

I have downloaded and installed the most recent EasyPHP together with the Joomla! 1.6 module. All installed 100%. I can login as admin and see the Joomla! backend and frontend and everything. To get started I have done as follows:
I successfully added an alias, testsite and the alias was created. It is empty now.

How do I get the Joomla! module to be "installed" for this alias? I know I most likely am missing something very crucial.

Thank you very much so long.

Sincere Regards,

I installed easyPHP 5.3.3 and EasyPHP-5.3.3-module-Joomla-1.5.20.

After the installation. I launched easyPHP and clicked on "Administration" and then clicked on "Front Office"(or "Back Office"). The address was:

[127.0.0.1]
It showed:
Object not found!
Error 404

Actually the correct address would be [127.0.0.1].
Why this happened?

The base url of my Joomla 1.5.20 site used to be [www.adhdtreatment.org]. This was done so I could have my own apache and thus a little better performance. Now my hosting company has change my base url to just [www.adhdtreatment.org]. Of course, the search engines have all of my pages indexed with the :10500. Of course all of the old URL's give a 404. I would like to send these indexed pages to their new URL. My theory is to use a modrewrite to send all [www.adhdtreatment.org] url's to [www.adhdtreatment.org]. Since some of the other elements of in the path have also changed, I was then going to use a list of simple 301 redirects like "redirect 301 /adhd/homework-messenger-help.html [www.adhdtreatment.org]; to send each request to the correct url.

So my questions are:
1) Is this the best strategy/ will it work?
2) In my .htaccess file, I already have modrewrite on for some other reasons, but this attempt at the mod rewrite rule does not work.

RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} ^10500$
RewriteRule .* [www.adhdtreatment.org] [R=PERMANENT]

What am I doing wrong and how do I correct it?

Thanks Larry

Easyphp runs. To start Joomla, I click on "Administration" and then I click on "Front Office" or "Back Office". A new tab opens and the browser is running and running, but nothing happens. Finally only a blanc screen is shown.
