Hello,
I have EasyPHP 5.3.1.0 installed on an XP machine. I can run phpMyAdmin ok from the EasyPHP Admin page locally but I'd like to do the same thing from another machine on the same network.

If I enter the address: [192.168.1.102] where 192.168.1.102 is the IP of the machine running EasyPHP, I get an error saying access to the page is forbidden.
I can access other pages without problem.

Thanks in advance

Hello I'm new to EasyPHP and thank you for your software! I wanted an app I could install on a portable external hard drive and I tried about 5 different ones with EasyPHP being the only one that I had success with.

I have an Apache error so a little history first:

I installed EasyPHP on my portable external hard drive so I could take my development project with me and work on it at home and at work without transfering files back and forth.

I initially installed it at home and I noticed that it installed a folder in my C:/startup even though I saved it to my X: drive(portable hard drive) but it worked fine on my laptop at home which, by the way, is running windows XP.

However at work my laptop is running windows 7 and I was getting an error message.
The error was:
Apache cannot be runned : another Web server use the Web port or port is blocked by firewall.

So I turned off my firewall with no success.

So then I tried copying the startup folder to my C:/ drive at work and now I don't get an error message but nothing happens. Admin, LocalWeb, Restart and Pending are all grayed out.

My log files read like:

Hello,
Recently my computer 'happened' to crash while mysqld.exe was working and since that moment MySQL component of my EasyPHP installation simply doesn't work - yes, I've got the 'green traffic light' icon in the service app, but in all other aspects it behaves exactly like mysql wasn't even switched on. (The only way I can log in to it is via mysql.exe in /mysql/bin directory using --user and --password parameters - I've since tried to do it and run mysqlcheck with --repair --all-databases (nothing seems to be deleted in /mysql/data) however - it didn't help) I've even gone that far to uninstall EasyPHP (and remove any reference of it in system registry), restart my computer, then install EasyPHP again "brand new", but after that *still the same behaviour* (it shouldn't be - but it is!).
Can anyone help me, please? (It starts to drive me crazy..)
(I've got EasyPHP 5.3.1.0 on WinXP)
Thanks

Hi,

I've been using Easyphp 5.3.1 for quite a while now and found it indeed very easy to use. I run an out-of-the-box installation, the only thing I've changed so far is adding another Alias line for phpmyadmin in the httpd.conf file, so phpmyadmin is found by the CTRL-Y menu entry.

Now I need to enable a php extension and found that in the php extensions window (CTRL-X) there is only one red line of crippled characters and a message "Extensions in red can't be used...".

There are 2 php.ini files. The one in the apache subdir has an entry

extension_dir = "E:\Daten\EaysPHP\php\ext\"

which is where the dlls reside, and the php.ini in the conf_files subdir reads

extension_dir = "${path}\php\ext\" which should point to the same directory.

How can I resolv this to get a proper extension list with CTRL-X?

Hello everybody!
I am starting to work with php, and i am not an expert. but i had problems with phpmyadmin.
I was told that was a problem of compatibility with my operatve system (windows 7). i tried to use virtual PC, but my machine didn´t like it.
so i asked again, and i was told about sqlyog, a new interface to mysql wich works at win 7.
my new problem is how to connect my easyphp server!
i tried with things like this:

$link=@mysql_connect("localhost","","")or die(mysql_error());
@mysql_select_db("prueba",$link)or die(mysql_error());

but does not work. I don`t know if this is a new problem of compatibility or if i am doing something wrong.
is anybody working with windows 7 with no problem?? could you tell me how??

thank you so much from spain!!

Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling EasyPHP but still getting the same problem.

Any ideas why this would have stopped working / what I need to do to fix?

I am a novice so have no idea what the problem could be.

Hello,

Nota : I could not make a good search on the whole forums subjects because of a crash of the search function of your site (reported separately by mail ).

I have not found where is said, what I think as true, that the 5.3.0 is configured for MYSQL in the mode server "mysqli". This seems to me normal.

Nevertheless this generates a problem for which one I have not found any solution till know.

If the application (in my case TikiWiki) uses PDO, the extension is php_pdo_mysql.dll (not php_pdo_mysqli.dll) and the instruction
"$mydb=NEW PDO(mysqli:...);"
crashed with error "driver not found", this while
$mydb=NEW PDO(mysql:...);"
(If you have activated the extension php_pdo_mysql.dll)
returns a NULL object without any error as the server don't exist.

So I don't know how to use PDO raised in the Easyphp context.

As for tikiwiki the problem is severe.
TikiWiki for which I simultaneously try to install two four installation on windows, enhanced as developer with the experience, a full windows installation (and compatibility patch) of 4.1 version and future ones (installation which was OK with version till 3.3 of tiki), and help for French translation.
The problem is severe because the program hold only the error with exception process.

Because the PDO extension don't returns an error when the existing TikiWiki goes on, till a crash much more later as most of function don't raises errors when operating on NULL db object. The result is erratic.

I had the idea idea that the file for a PDO extension for mysqli should be named "php_pdo_mysqli.dll" I search on the net.
I found it inside an important document about PHP6...

It seams to me today that the difficulties of the PHP6 release, and complete desynchronization with PDO (and ADODB which have not compatible version with php5.3) is the source of the problem.

There is in my opinion five solutions (only the first one reasonable) :

1- Develop a php_pdo_mysqli.dll by "retro-compatibility" from the php6 dll ("php_pdo_mysqli.dll") or from the php_pdo_mysql.dll

2- Admit that it became impossible to install the new TikiWiki version (the older where using connect_mysql...) and any other application using PDO on windows with updated configurations and so don't use it till PHP6 should be released. Stop developments.

3- Go back to older version of php and easy php to have a mysql php extension available with mysql and admit that other new applications can't function on the same computer....

4- install a mysql version and php which will be able to hold both mysql and mysqli extensions (NEW PDO become available with both mysql and mysqli servers with one unique extension !!!

5- Make multiple installations of Mysql as different servers depending of the soft using it.

Thank's to give me an available answer, while nobody could give me any advice either than develop myself.

Anyway, I believe that a solution should be found so that a call to mysql:... server (php extension mysql) raises an error when the unique server is mysqli, even normally the returned object is NULL.

Best regards
