can I use command line mysql monitor ?

I'm new to this.

I have easyphp 2 installed.
I have file:
C:\Program Files\EasyPHP 2.0b1\mysql\bin\

Shouldn't I be able to open a command prompt and run mysql.exe to enter mysql inquires rather than using phpmyadmin?

If I run mysql --standalone, the try and run mqsql.exe to run monitr I get:
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhosting password: NO)

If I use phpadmin it's all great, but It'd be nice to have access to command line monitor as well.
