mod rewrite problem

i installed the latest version of easyphp 5.3.3 and i have problems with mod_rewirte...its not working :) same files worked fine on the previous version that i had installed (5.2+)
the module is loaded and in the apache log the only error is that the file is not found
here is a simple htaccess and its not working.what to do ?thanks

RewriteRule ^products/$ bob.html
