Can't finish installation

I am using Win7 64bit. During the installation I wanted to install it into the root of the drive L:\ but it said, that i have to enter a full path conaitnign the drive letter plus a directory. A drive letter is a valid directory and ususal for USB Sticks. So, for this test i changed it to L:\EasyPHP\ and the installation started

At the end of the installation another error occured:

"L:\EasyPHP\phpmyadmin\themes\original\img\s_okey.png
An error occured while trying to create a dile in the destination directory: The write protection is activated on this drive. Click retry [bla...bla...]"

So, write protection is not activated an there are still 1.85 GB free.

Any solutions/patches for that planned?

EDIT: Also all following files on this drive cant be written.

1st problem: it's not a probleme in my opinion. It's not usual to install at the root of a drive and probleme is work aroundable.

Second problem: I succeed to install on my key. Check there is no hardware problem on this key (try to fill it with big file).

Hey,

it seems my USB stick has been killed during the file transfer. It is now "read only" and the protection can't be removed ;( I used it the last months for two or three video files a week betwenn 350 MB and 1,7 GB. Until then large files worked fine. So, it's time for a new one.

I don't know how to work around to install it into the root. I say regulary to developers in different industries: Don't exclude options. The users have a free will and if they wanna use a speacial folder/driveletter/paper size/whatever, don't limit them.

I try the installation again ... later ... and tell if it works now.

Take a look on my translation post =)

Thx and cya

The workaround is: don't install in root drive :-)

You also can install on your hard drive and cut/paste install dir on your flash drive.

I made it.

Damn, why my stick broke during copying the files?

Is the php.ini the only file where i have to change the path when I copy it to another drive?

Probably hardware problem. You tried to install on hard disk ?

yep. Everything is installed on hard disc. The USB stick is damaged and it was bad luck that it broke down during the installation. But you have a good insurance, i hope :p

I want to copy the installation to a removable drive. But I try it first by my own :D
