php does not work

Hello,
from a newcomer to php trying to post for the third tme
with XP sp3, easyphp 5.3.1, Firefox 3.6
Even simple codes pasted from www.az-php.com
(with the proper <?php tag)
Wont show anything
foraging through forums and whaever give no answer
Any tip?

enter to the php config file and enable short tags
