Scripts Php non interpretés

Bonjour,

j'ai téléchargé et installé Easyphp 5.3.0 sous Windows vista.
je lance easyphp normalement
Mais je constate qu'il n'interprete pas mes scripts php

par exemple lorsque j'écris ceci

bonjour
<BR>
<? echo "merci" ; ?>
<BR>
bye

j'obtiens :

bonjour
bye

au lieu de :

bonjour
merci
bye

svp, quel peut être le problème et comment le résoudre?
