phpMyAdmin error

I have just installed this and go to phpMyAdmin but I get the following error:
Error

SQL query: Edit

SET CHARACTER SET 'utf8';

MySQL said: Documentation
#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax near ''utf8'' at line 1

Anyone know what this is? Its a fresh install and I haven't done a thing.

Not so easyphp.

EasyPHP is running as Adminstrator (right click on EasyPHP shortcut, and "Run as Administrator") ; or UAC is already disabled ?

after istalling joomla ...i cant open phpmyadmin ... what do i have to do?

just read mysql documentation

In the administrator tab, i changed the name "admin" and password "admin" for other ones, and now i'm in big trouble. I can't access in my data base with PHPmy Admin. I got to first page, and when i call the base, i got sentences like that:

Warning: mysql_select_db() [function.mysql-select-db]: A link to the server could not be established in C:\Program Files\EasyPHP5.2.10\www\pmb\includes\mysql_connect.inc.php on line 37

and

Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: A link to the server could not be established in C:\Program Files\EasyPHP5.2.10\www\pmb\classes\semantique.class.php on line 39

Can U help me a little beat please!

For tests purposes, there is no need to change admin password, so you can restore that ;)
