SET CHARACTER SET 'utf8';

Hi,

I have installed easyphp 5.2.10 today on my windows vista starter.
From adminstration screen, when I click Phpmyadmin, I am getting the following error.

Error
SQL query:

SET CHARACTER SET 'utf8';

MySQL said:

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax near ''utf8'' at line 1
------

I am new to php. Can any one provide help, please.

EasyPHP is running as Administrator, or without UAC ?

Which is your Windows 7 language ?

Running EasyPHP as administrator solved the problem. I am not getting the error anymore. Thanks a lot for your help. (Encoding is Unicode(UTF-8) and keyboard input language is English; UAC is ON).

I have same problem. How do you check if EasyPHP is running as Admin & with/without UAC. There is nothing I can see in the config or help file????
