MySQL isnt working

I installed EasyPHP 5.2.10 and I can't get MySQL to start.
When I try to access it via [localhost]
I get this error:

MySQL said: Documentation
#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

I'm a newbie and any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It's a new installation, not an upgrade attemp ?

EasyPHP is running as Administrator (if you use Vista or 7) ?

I'm getting the same error as mentioned above. It's a new installation on Vista. I've tried running the .exe as administrator and I'm still getting this error.

Fixed. Needed to change configuration of EasyPHP (CTRL + E) and select "Start Apache and MySql as services (administrator only)" in addition to running app as Admin.

Doh. Still not working. Spoke to soon. But at least I've got the green light on MySQL. It's still throwing the same accessed denied error when I try to go to the phpMyAdmin. Sorry for the posts :(

Can you uninstall all, and try again ?

Also, can you try MySQL host "127.0.0.1" and not "localhost" ?
