MySQL version warning in phpmyadmin

I've installed EasyPHP 5.2.10.

When I take phpmyadmin, Im getting following errors, to the bottom of my phpmyadmin page:

a) Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole by setting a password for user '.root'.

b) Your PHP MySQL library version 5.0.51a differs from your MySQL server version 5.1.36. This may cause unpredictable behavior.

I'm new to php and I's about to evaluate a web-app built in php. I cannot even start my evaluation, due to this error.

Any idea why this is happening?
Any help will be appreciated.

The first warning is normal as the error message said, it's the default configuration.

The second is weirder for an EasyPHP release.
You can try a reinstall or install the version 5.3.0 in place of 5.2.10, with which I know you will not have this warning.

Since the software-pack i'm evaluating does not work with php 5.3.
So, Im left w/o any choice other than to try php 5.2.10.

Please note, Im getting the same error on installing wampserver 2.0i.

J'ai le même problème avec EasyPHP-5.2.10 téléchargé le 08-03-2010 et installé sur deux machines, une avec Win Vista et une avec Win 7. Dans les 2 cas le message est le même: "La version de votre bibliothèque MySQL (5.0.51a) diffère de la version de votre serveur MySQL (5.1.37). Ceci peut occasionner un comportement imprévisible".
L'application que j'utilise derrière ne peut pas tourner avec EasyPHP-5.3.2.

Ceci est tout à fait normal car la version du client MySQL fournie par PHP en pré-compilé est "ancienne" par souci de compatibilité, au cas où on a un ancien MySQL.

Néanmoins, en principe tout fonctionne ;)
